ABOUT THE PROGRAMME


This course is recommended to Executives, Professionals and Business Students who wish to improve their language skills in specific business topics and situations. This course is also perfect for students wishing to take a Business Course such as those offered by Manchester Business School.

Programme Content


  • Presentations and negotiations
  • Leadership/management skills (time management, managing people, etc.)
  • Networking/Entertaining, socialising in a business context
  • Meetings/Conferences and telephone skills
  • Interview techniques (interviewee & interviewer)
  • Commercial writing (SWOT Analysis, report writing, etc.)
  • Business correspondence (emails, letters, etc.)
  • Specific business topics to be selected to match the business interests of the participants
  • Cultural awareness
  • Company visits

Activities are varied, hands-on, task-based and give students every opportunity to practise. Activities include role plays, team work, simulations and case studies. Materials are based on input from participants whenever possible. As well as improving their Business English skills, students gain an insight into the working culture in Britain and gain Management skills.

Average age: 28-30 years old (Summer: 24-25 years old)
Minimum entry level:         Upper Intermediate (B2-)

Every Monday
No of lessons:  20 hours per week Monday

               
Please note that Active English Academy will be closed on the following days:
In 2011: August 29th and from December 23rd 2011 to January 8th 2012 included.
In 2012: April 6th, April 9th, May 7th, June 4th, June 5th, August 27th and from December 22nd 2012 to January 6th 2013 included.
