WORK PLACEMENT

Minimum Level: B2 - Upper Intermediate

Active English Academy has developed strong links with a network of companies in and out of Manchester and is proud to offer its students work placements in many different sectors (engineering, manufacturing, textile, hospitality, law, travel, etc.).

Not only does work experience enable you to improve your language skills, it also gives you a valuable insight into the British business and working culture. Working in a different working environment to the one you are used to, also demonstrates future employers your sense of independence, initiative, adaptability and ability to work in an international context.

If you wish to be placed in a company, we require you to attend, depending on your entry level, a minimum of 4 weeks in Course B or 2 weeks in Course C.
To take full advantage of the work placement, we recommend a minimum stay of 4 weeks.

Usually, work placement is unpaid. However, in some cases, particularly in the hospitality industry, you may be offered the national minimum wage.

In order for us to organise the work experience the most adapted to your needs and requirements, we require a minimum of 6 weeks to secure the placement.

Fees in 2008:
If your Level of English is B1+, then attend Course B for 4 weeks: £1,760.00
If your Level of English is B2-, then attend Course C for 2 weeks:  £1,500.00

Fees in 2009:
If your Level of English is B1+, then attend Course B for 4 weeks: £1,860.00
If your Level of English is B2-, then attend Course C for 2 weeks:  £1,570.00
